Day 11: Hey there reader Piper here! today we woke up in Great sand
dunes and I'm really excited for what we’re doing today! Today we are going to attempt hiking up the biggest Sand dune of all.. One thing I heard about the sand dunes is that sometimes when you walk on the sand it shifts and makes eerie haunting noises, maybe I can trick Nica and Oliver. Before we actually drove there I asked a question “ should we wear shoes?” Eventually we decided that it would be best to wear shoes because the sand would probably be really hot and could burn your feet. we started the hike and Nica insisted that we bring a backpack with water and for good reason because I ran out of water very fast and “ UUUGGG I forgot to put on sunscreen” and I'm already starting to burn so I stopped to put on sunscreen and that's when I heard it “whoooo” as I was moving a weird noise was issuing from the ground the whispering sands! I explained to everyone what the noise was and we continued walking. We didn't end up making it to the top but the view and the hike was definitely worth it. Then we went back to the campsite and while Oliver And Nica played egyptian rat screw I started drawing everything I saw today, but finally I gave in and decided to join in on their game then we all lay down and fell “yawn” asleep.
