Hey everyone! My name is Nica, and I’m writing the blog for today! We are still in San Diego, but I am determined to have as good a day as Friday (yesterday.) We were conked out from staying up until 11:00 p.m., so we woke up at 9:00 a.m., before lingering around, too tired to be hungry. Finally, Oliver’s tummy expressed discomfort, and we took a taxi to breakfast at The Gaslamp Breakfast Company. After a yummy meal, we headed to Belmont park, tummies full. I climbed out of the back, closing the taxi door behind me, but shortly fell onto it, awestruck. The rides and roller coasters looked like heaven, and I couldn't wait to get crackin’! First, we went to the Giant Dipper roller coaster, and it was SO FUN!! The nice view and salty air whooshed passed me as I screamed as loud as a hyena, but for a good reason. After that, with adrenaline pumping through me from the previous ride, we went on the Beach Blaster, and we swung. (for a second, I felt a lurch of nausea.) We went on several more thrilling rides, and 2 hours later, I didn’t want to leave for lunch, even though we were already late to our reservation at the vistol bar + restaurant. I was drooling by the time we arrived, and snarfed my meal down so fast I had hiccups for an hour. Piper and Oliver ate at a normal pace, so I played on our shared electronic for, say, 20 minutes before we hit the road to the botanical garden. The flowers and plants were pretty, but last time I was unlucky and a (shiver) frog jumped in front of me. I was more cautious, but enjoyed just the same. We stayed for 1 and a half hours, before heading to tony pines state preserve. It was incredible, with the rarest pine trees in the U.S.! The rocky, beautiful trails made my jaw drop, and we took plenty of pictures.
